Peer Rooted is being built around two areas of work: Peer Development and Organizational Consultation. Both are grounded in lived experience, person-centered practice, and the believe that support works best when people are treated with dignity, choice, and respect.

Peer DevelopmentYour initial training teaches you the foundations of peer support. Then you being working with people, and the questions arise. How do you understand your role in a difficult moment? What do you do when you feel unsure? How do you keep growing without carrying the work alone?

Peer Rooted Extended Learning will give peer supporters a place to keep developing their practice. We’re building self-paced e-learning, practical resources, and a resource library, with learning co-horts planned as the program grows. We also intend to explore resources for peer professionals considering independent practice.

Organizational Consultation

Strong services depend on strong operations. Peer Rooted will partner with non-profit and community based organizations in behavioral health, substance use, disability services, recovery, and related fields to align their programs, people, and daily operations with the values they promise to uphold.For organizations preparing to grow, we will support program development, service design, and the policies and procedures needed to deliver services consistently. For organizations facing persistent challenges such as staff turnover, unclear roles, communication breakdowns, or gaps between leadership decisions and front line practices. We will help identify underlying issues and develop a practical path forward.

Consultation may include organizational assessments; program design or redesign; reviews of participant access and experience; leadership and staff workflows; communication practices; and the development of revision of manuals, polices, and procedures. Our approach is rooted in peer values and applies across the organization., whether or not it operates a peer program.
